Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.” (WEB)
A promise repeated throughout Scripture: God himself goes with you.
Loneliness is painful, but Scripture's steady promise is that God never leaves us. Even when people feel far away, his presence is closer than we know.

“Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”” (WEB)
God's never-leaving presence is the antidote to feeling alone.
“Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (WEB)
Jesus' final promise: his presence with us, always.
“Where could I go from your Spirit?” There is nowhere we can be beyond God's presence.
“God sets the lonely in families.” God's heart is to place the isolated in community.
“I am with you... I will help you.” God's nearness in fearful, lonely moments.
When loneliness presses in, these verses anchor us in a presence that doesn't depend on circumstances. Psalm 68:6 also hints at God's design: he often answers loneliness through his people, so a small step toward a church or a friend can be part of the answer you're praying for.

Open Verse FinderThe Bible repeatedly promises that God never leaves or forsakes us (Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5), that Jesus is with us always (Matthew 28:20), and that God “sets the lonely in families” (Psalm 68:6), often meeting our loneliness through community.
Hebrews 13:5 (“I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you”) and Matthew 28:20 (“I am with you always”) are two of the most reassuring.
